The evening opens with a short, guided meditation to settle the group and mark the shift from the day’s pace to the wood’s pace. From there the format loosens. Space opens for anyone who wants to speak about where they are right now, with no obligation to contribute. The facilitator reads a poem aloud, chosen for the room rather than performed at it. The evening closes with tea and cake, giving the group a shared, unhurried moment to sit together before dispersing.

Community doesn’t form through structured icebreakers. It forms when women sit in the same space long enough, hear one voice read something meaningful, and share something as ordinary as tea and cake at the close. Meditation quiets the noise each woman arrives with. The poem gives the group a shared reference point before anyone has to find their own words. Sharing, when it happens, happens because the room made room for it, not because it was scheduled. Ending with tea and cake keeps the evening from a hard stop. It lets the conversation continue at its own pace.

  • Warm layers, the wood yard sits outdoors and evenings cool quickly
  • A blanket or cushion for sitting during the meditation and sharing
  • A cup if you have a favourite, otherwise cups are provided
  • Sturdy, weather-appropriate footwear

Nothing else is required. Tea and cake are provided at the close.

Women looking for company in stillness rather than another structured wellness class. Ideal for those who want to be known by a small group over time, not just attend a single event.
